DOWNTOWN/PSU: The Portland Farmers Market returns to the South Park Blocks this Saturday (that's tomorrow) with the first market of the 2012 season — in the process, marking the organization's 21st year. As per usual, more than 100 farmers and vendors will be on-hand (including favorite market eateries Tastebud, Pine State Biscuits, and Verde Cocina), while three new vendors have been announced for the season: Pono Farm & Fine Meats (from Bend, OR), Temptress Truffles (which features foraged mushrooms and truffles, not chocolate), and Champoeg Farm which will debut its pasture-raised turkeys around the holidays). Hours of operation: Saturday, 8:30am-2pm, through December 15. [EaterWire]
DOWNTOWN/SW: Add another spot to the brunch list: Soi 9, the W. Burnside Thai restaurant that's a stone's throw from Jeld-Wen Field, has announced the debut of its Sunday brunch service. The menu features a combination of traditional Thai and American dishes (like rice porridge; Kai Gata, a skillet filled with fried eggs and Thai sausage; and eggs Benedict served with panang sauce). Brunch is available Sundays, from 10:30am-3pm. [EaterWire]
