NE Fremont's neighborhood bar Free House, which shuttered in early February, has been resurrected. Olympic Provisions co-owner Martin Schwartz and Victory Bar chef Eric Moore have revamped the space (in the same row that houses Acadia New Orleans Bistro and the Country Cork Pub House), debuting their 2012 version of the Free House last night.
According to Schwartz, Bunk Bar alum Ansel Vickery is heading the bar program, and the team has added a small kitchen, with Moore cooking up menu options like smoked cheddar mac and cheese; bratwurst with sauerkraut; roasted veggie sandwiches; and wedge salads with homemade ranch dressing. Unsurprisingly, Olympic Provisions' products feature heavily, with charcuterie boards, sweetheart ham plates, and OP's house frankfurters. No official website or contact info yet, but Free House's hours moving forward: 4pm to midnight, seven days a week.
