The ever ubiquitous hotel/brewpub chain McMenamins is eyeing another boutique hotel project: This one adjacent to the McMenamins Chapel Pub in North Portland. According to the Daily Journal of Commerce, McMenamins has submitted a proposal to turn a historic Mason building on N. Commercial Ave. into a 46-room hotel complete with a small pub in the attic. The new hotel property, if approved, would connect with the Chapel Pub through a ground-floor garden bar and spa. [DJC]
