Candlelight Shutters; Eat Mobile Lineup; More Free Bagels

DOWNTOWN: The Oregonian reports that longtime blues dive Candlelight Room Cafe & Bar will shutter this Saturday to make way for the city's planned light rail line to Milwaukie. The Candlelight had famously offered live music seven night a week for the past 28 years. According to the article, owner Joe Shore hopes "to move the Candlelight to a space at Northwest Quimby Street and 19th Avenue, although no papers have been signed yet." [OregonLive]

CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL: Portland's annual food cart festival — Willamette Week's Eat Mobile — has revealed the "initial" cart lineup for its 2012 event, with nearly 50 carts scheduled to park it at OMSI on Saturday, April 28. The list ranges from established faves like Lardo, EuroTrash, and Whiffies to relative newcomers like Indian cart Roshambo and barbecue spot Briskets. Tickets are on sale now and available here. OLD TOWN: The kitchen staff at Old Town's KitchenCru have announced another Free Bagel Bonanza this weekend: Just like last time, the Cru will dole out free NY-style bagels (with schmear) from 11am until supplies last (the Facebooks hints at a soy/miso bagel with a kimchi schmear). Guests can purchase bagels to-go for $5 per half dozen. [EaterWire]
