DOWNTOWN: After a quickie revamp/rebrand, downtown's Dragonfish Asian Cafe — inside the Paramount Hotel sandwiched between Director Park and the Park Blocks — has officially re-opened as Asian small-plates spot Tasting East. The spot's "street plate" menu, available at the TE:bar, features sandwiches (like pork tonkatsu, and a bulgogi beef option stuffed inside a scallion pancake), snacks like wonton brie wraps, and an Arabiki sausage hot dog slathered in pork curry before hitting the bun. The restaurant's official grand opening is scheduled for March 22, but current hours are available here.
NORTHEAST: Eater's a bit late to the game on this one, but the Wayne's Chicago Red Hots space on NE MLK has welcomed a new restaurant in the form of Cedos Falafel. The spot, unsurprisingly, specializes in falafel and gyros. Hours of operation: 11:30am-8pm, Sunday-Thursday; 11:30am-9pm, Friday & Saturday.
