New Cafe Castagna Chef; Wafu Late-Night; Giada in Town

SOUTHEAST—Per a press release, Cafe Castagna has a new head chef in Alba Osteria alum Jeff Emerson. Emerson, the Alba sous chef and pasta-maker, joins the Castagna lineup alongside chef Justin Woodward, and has announced the launch of an early-evening happy hour, available Monday through Saturday, 5-6pm. SOUTHEAST—Seafood/ramen spot Wafu has shifted the hours of its late-night happy hour, granting guests cheap bowls of ramen for an additional hour daily, beginning at 9pm. The late-night menu (featuring bites like three kinds of steam buns and two bowls of ramen for $5 each) will now be available Sunday through Thursday, 9-11pm. [EaterWire]

NORTHWEST/ALPHABET DISTRICT—Food Network personality and cookbook author Giada De Laurentiis will make an appearance at the NW 23rd Williams-Sonoma store on April 25, signing copies of her newest book, Weeknights with Giada.
