PoMo's Karen Brooks drops this almost-weekend bombshell: SE Division's nine-year-old Mediterranean restaurant Lauro Kitchen, opened by veteran restaurateur David Machado (also of Nel Centro and Vindalho) in 2003, will officially call it quits on May 27. Taking its place: a new restaurant concept by Stumptown head honcho Duane Sorenson, whose first foray into restaurants, the Woodsman Tavern, is flourishing in its spot eight blocks down the street.
According to Brooks, "Sorenson plans to unveil a new restaurant concept in the near future," while Machado's other two properties will operate business-as-usual. More information about this one as it becomes available.
