Kenny Giambalvo's Morso Now Open in the Pearl

New, 2 comments

[Avila, 5/1/12]

The transformation is complete: The Pearl District location of Mio Gelato has morphed into Morso by revamping and expanding its savory food menu to feature dishes by new chef Kenny Giambalvo, a 10-year alum of fine dining spot Bluehour. (Morso's Bridgeport Village location debuted earlier this spring.)

As promised, the spot (Italian for "morsel") features a casual Italian-inspired menu of soups, salads, and sandwiches to pair with Mio's gelato and an expanded pastry and dessert list. On the savory side, Giambalvo debuts nine salads (including a classic Italian chopped romaine salad with prosciutto cotto, salami, provolone, and peppers), and five hot and five cold sandwiches — a hot braised beef sandwich will be served with sweet onion jam, provolone, and mustard; while a cold Dungeness crab sandwich will be dressed with avocado, bacon, and tomato. For early risers, breakfast features sweet and savory morning pastries, as well as a menu of breakfast sandwiches. Hours of operation: Sun-Wednesday, 7am-10pm; Thurs-Sat, 7am-11pm.
