Portland Monthly's May 2012 issue, on stands now, crowns its Best of the City picks in everything from vintage shopping to doggie salons, and unsurprisingly, a fair share of Best Food & Drink options make the pages, as well.
Among the city's Best of Food: The Pearl District's Bluehour (which features a complete cheese cart curated by fromager Jesse Seratt) gets the nod for Portland's best cheese plate; Toro Bravo's radicchio with anchovies is named the town's best salad; while NW 23rd's LeLa's Bistro, with its ties to Binh Minh Bakery, takes home honors for the best banh mi. On the Best of Drinks list, PoMo boozers dub the Rum Club the top cocktail bar; while the Central Eastside's My Father’s Place balances the scales as the town's best dive, offering "Pabst Blue Ribbon in any format — draft, bottle, can, heck, even a 40 oz."
And extra bonus points for the mag's "Reader's Choice" write-up for the Portland City Grill: "Yeah, the vibe’s a little bit Goldman Sachs Gone Wild. But oh, the view!"
