The Oregonian sits down with restaurateur Dave Machado, who shuttered his SE Division restaurant Lauro Kitchen over the weekend after nine years in business. According to Machado, who also owns downtown's Nel Centro, the neighborhood's rapid rise ultimately lead to Lauro's shutter: "Because of the profound changes on the street, I probably would have had to remodel and maybe even re-conceptualize it in terms of menu and pricing. The cost of doing that would exceed the benefits of me staying there." [OregonLive]
