Cocktail Pairing at Beast; Sugar Cube Moves to Hawthorne

NORTHEAST—Beast chef/owner Naomi Pomeroy will team up with PDT and Central alum Lydia Reissmueller (currently of TenderBar) for a special cocktail pairing dinner scheduled for Tuesday, May 15. The four-course dinner will feature menu items like a foie-butter buffalo ribeye (paired with a rye, herbs de provence, and demerara cocktail) and green salad with ramps, sheep's milk cheese, and honeyed walnuts (paired with a "Spring Dandy" cocktail of gin and sparkling dandelion wine). Reservations are $100 and available for two seatings, at 6pm and 8:45pm. [EaterWire]

HAWTHORNE—PoMo's Karen Brooks reports that Kir Jensen's dessert truck the Sugar Cube will soon partner with a familiar neighbor, Lardo's Rick Gencarelli, bringing her cart to the SE Hawthorne parking lot of Genacarelli's upcoming Lardo brick-and-mortar restaurant. Per partner and ChefStable czar Kurt Huffman, the concept sees the Sugar Cube permanently parking near a tented indoor/outdoor patio — with up to 100 seats — promising a year-round pairing of "savory inside, sweet outside." More information as it becomes available. [Eat Beat]
