The Oregonian breaks a double-dose of expansion news: Both uber-popular scoop shop Salt & Straw and Portland's longtime French bakery St. Honore will open their respective third locations in a shared building on SE Division and 33rd Place, two blocks away from Andy Ricker's Pok Pok. Per the O, the mixed-use building is currently in construction and is scheduled to be completed in spring 2013.
The new spaces represent different stages in both sweet spots' expansions. The burgeoning Salt & Straw debuted its flagship location on NE Alberta in August of last year, with its NW 23rd location bowing just two months ago. St. Honore baker/owner Dominique Guelin, meanwhile, has taken the slow-but-steady approach, with his first location debuting on NW Thurman Street in 2003, and a second Lake Oswego bakery following in 2007. More news about both expansions as it becomes available.
