James Beard Public Market

This thing is one step closer to happening. The Daily Journal of Commerce reports that the county board of commissioners has officially accepted a development agreement with Melvin Mark Development Co. to turn the Morrison Bridgehead into, among other things, a 50,000-square-foot outdoor market bearing James Beard's name. The first proposals for a Beard Public Market began circulating in late 2008/early 2009; the next step? Oh, you know, planning the project and raising $25 million in funds over the next 37 months.
