Influential culinary instructor Robert Reynolds, who counts many Portland chefs among his protégés, has been, sadly, diagnosed with lymphoma, and according to a message sent to the local food community, "[Reynolds] continues to have great strength, spirit, and acuity. But his remaining time will be measured in months not years." Reynolds' friends are organizing a food-filled fundraiser on his behalf set for this Friday, June 29, and the "Victory Lap" celebration will feature courses cooked up by Kristen Murray and Teri Gelber. Funds will be used to send the Chef's Studio owner on a trip to "the places that shaped Robert and inspired him to inspire us." Tickets and more information here. [PF&D]
