New, 3 comments

EVERYWHERE—Portland's food cart scene gets some major coverage in the form of a 16-page love letter by Saveur editor Dana Bowen. The mag's June/July issue — which features wings from Nong's Khao Man Gai on the cover — hails Portland's cart scene as representative of "food of the people," highlighting recipes from the likes of PDX 671, Artigiano, Aladdin's Castle Cafe, the Big Egg, and Lardo. UPDATE: The full article has just gone live here. [EaterWire]

NW/ALPHABET DISTRICT—Per the Twitterverse, Bamboo Sushi NW has solidified its opening date: June 25. As previously reported, Bamboo expected an opening in the former Rose's Restaurant & Bakery space in fall 2011, then pushed it back to March, then June, 2012. [EaterWire]

PEARL DISTRICT—Meanwhile, in the Pearl, upcoming spot jamison has set an opening date for June 27, according to co-owner Christopher Handford. [EaterWire]
