Downtown worker bees have a new lunch option in the newly opened Picnic House, a charming fast-casual spot by Aaron and Jessica Grimmer, who also own the Park Blocks dessert shop Pudding on the Rice. Picnic House, which debuted earlier this week, offers "elevated picnic fare" including soups (like a roasted cauliflower with parmesan), salads (a spring veggie and house-made ricotta), and about a half-dozen sandwiches available dine-in or to-go (for picnics in the park). Dinnertime entrees include pasta options and a roasted pork loin, while a selection of small plates ranges from pickled shrimp to bavette skewers.

The Picnic House's hours are still in flux; check the official site for updates.
