Another Cart Going Brick-and-Mortar: Shut Up and Eat

New, 1 comment

Italian-inspired sandwich cart Shut Up and Eat, which calls SE Division's A La Carts pod home, announced last week that it would temporarily shutter, as owners John Fimmano and Glenn Hollenbeck were "in the works of expanding into a brick & mortar space."

And now, the magical world of OLCC applications reveals that SU&E is eyeing a brick-and-mortar location on SE Gladstone, a stone's throw from Gladstone Street Pizza. Per the applications, the space would serve as a counter-service-only sandwich shop with 20 seats (presumably highlighting popular items on the current menu likemeatball subs, cheesesteaks, and Italian grinder hoagies). Shut Up and Eat debuted in the A La Carts pod in fall 2010, and its expansion into all-weather digs marks the second major sandwich cart movin' on up: Lardo announced earlier this spring that it would move into the former Johnny B's space on SE Hawthorne.
