Welcome to this week's event-planning EaterWire:
SE BELMONT—This Saturday (July 14), SE Belmont crêperie Suzette will host a Bastille Day fete complete with all the Francophilic fixings. A cocktail party at 4p.m. includes Lillet cocktails, mini crêpes, and tricolore ice cream, but those looking to intensify the festivities should stay for the 6:30 dinner. A $25 reservation will get you two appetizers, a pair of crêpes (including one filled with crab, corn and arugula), and la pièce de résistance: cherry and frangipane tart with crème fraiche and candied almonds. Call the restaurant for a seat.
NORTHEAST—July 14 brings us another Bastille Day party at the Side Yard Farm, where chef Stacey Givens will serve French peasant dishes in celebration of the monarchy's demise in 1790. The seasonal country cuisine includes standouts like a salad of summer greens, flowers, herbs, plum vinaigrette, soft goat cheese, and a farm egg. A bourgeois-bohème price of $55 gets you five farm-fresh courses, five French wines, and gratuity. Email here for a reservation.
CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL—The boys at Bunk Sandwiches will celebrate their upcoming appearance on the Travel Channel's Best Sandwich in America with a viewing party at beloved eastside dive the Slammer. The event, set for tomorrow (Wednesday, July 11) at 9p.m., will feature the live airing of the episode, Bunk pork belly Cubano samplers, and a cash bar.
CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL—Beaker & Flask sister bar the Rum Club marks its first anniversary with a pig-roastin', big boozin' party this Sunday, July 15. The event — open to the public with an RSVP at the spot's Facebook page — promises a Cuban-style roast pig, "deeply discounted" cocktails, and behind-the-bar shifts courtesy familiar bartenders-about-town. The party lasts from 3p.m. to midnight; more information here.
