CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL—David Speer of Ambonnay will team up with din din Supperclub’s Courtney Sproule for an effervescent four-course dinner with Champagne-only pairings. This Friday, July 20, the duo will demonstrate unique and eclectic dishes, proving that bubbly stands up to more than oysters. The dinner meets at Red Slate Wine Company at 7 p.m. $120 gets you four courses with Champagne pairings and gratuity. For reservations, call Ambonnay at (503) 575-4861.

NORTHWEST/ALPHABET DISTRICT—Tonight, Bastas Trattoria will host Fattoria Petroio wines for a special pairing dinner. Flying all the way from Tuscany, Petroio sommelier Diana Lenzi will pour several Italian wines to accompany chef Marco Frattaroli's pan-regional Italian cuisine. Expect wood-fired pizza, house made brasaola and salami, and fresh seafood. Email here to snag a $65 reservation.

SOUTHEAST—Head to Bar Avignon tomorrow for a taste of a Cajun classic: the crawfish boil. Starting at 5p.m., chef Eric Joppie will be cooking piles of Chinook crawfish spiced in the traditional Louisianian fashion. $17 gets you a pound of the little guys, plus Andouille sausage, potatoes, and corn. No reservations are necessary, but get there early so as not to miss out.

EVERYWHERE—Portland will make any holiday an excuse to drink copious amounts of beer, and this Saturday, that holiday is Belgian Independence Day. From 1 to 9p.m., the Brewvana bus will be shuttling drunkards between Apex/BeerMongers, Bazi, Belmont Station, Bridgetown Beerhouse, Hop and Vine, and PIB for exclusive Belgian beer tastings. A $5 ticket, available at any participating bar, gets you unlimited access to hop on and off the bus. Check out the schedule here.
