Surprising chef shake-up to report at Tabla: Chef Anthony Cafiero, whose molecular-leaning Mediterranean dishes have exited the Tabla kitchen since 2009, has left the NE restaurant — effective as of today — in order to "pursue other interests."
According to sources, the split between Cafiero and Tabla owner Adam Berger (the pair had previously worked together at the now-shuttered Ten 01) is amicable. "Anthony's energy and enthusiasm have been a huge part of Tabla and he will definitely be missed," Berger said in a statement released to Eater. "We are totally excited for him and support this move to pursue new projects."
No replacement for Cafiero has yet been named, nor is there information about Cafiero's future plans. More information as it becomes available.
