It's time for Bunk to pull the trigger. PoMo's Karen Brooks breaks the news that Bunk's team of Tommy Habetz, Nick Wood, and Matt Brown will soon open a Tex-Mex inspired spot, dubbed Trigger, in a space underneath the Wonder Ballroom music venue (most recently known as the "Under Wonder Lounge"). According to chef Habetz, the concept will feature Bunk takes on tortas, queso, grilled meats, and margaritas — in what he describes, inexplicably, as "authentic gay cowboy cuisine." (Brooks notes that Habetz is an alum of Bobby Flay's NYC restaurant Mesa Grill, and past Bunk specials have revealed a "cooking bristled with Southwest flavor intensity".)
The 40-seat Trigger is aiming for an October opening. More as it becomes available.
