After Delays, Bhap Sang Finally Under Construction

The long-delayed Bhap Sang PDX — aka the brick-and-mortar restaurant by Kim Jong Grillin' chef/owner Han Hwang — is showing minor signs of life, in the form of an epic Tumblr update. According to Hwang, construction is finally underway at a location SE 28th and Division, after a failed attempt to build an "outdoor" kitchen inside a shipping container (the new restaurant will feature a more "traditional" indoor kitchen set-up).

After a fire shuttered the Kim Jong Grillin' cart in April 2011, Hwang announced plans to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant, signing a lease for the Division space in January 2012. Bhap Sang is now shooting for a late September soft-opening.
