MOREICECREAM. PoMo reports that ice cream truck Fifty Licks will open a brick-and-mortar scoop shop on SE Clinton. Owner Chad Draizin — whose roving-capable ice cream truck is usually parked at the Good Food Here pod — plans for a spring 2013 debut for the shop, which will offer Fifty Licks' familiar flavors, new combinations, and pre-packed pints of ice cream.

Portland has experienced an uncanny proliferation of scoop shops of late. In the summer following Salt & Straw's August 2011 debut on NE Alberta, no fewer than four ice cream shops have popped up around Portland: two more of the S&S brand (on NW 23rd and SE Division), the second Ruby Jewel location downtown, and N. Williams' What's the Scoop?. Projected opening for Fifty Licks' brick-and-mortar: April 2013.
