On this week's evening-planning EaterWire:
CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL—This Sunday, Olympic Provisions will host a dinner to celebrate the Provençale condiment aioli. This garlicky emulsion of olive oil and egg yolk is a far cry from supermarket mayo (which erroneously gets called "aioli" more than you'd like to know). Instead, chef Alex Yoder's hand-whipped aioli will serve as a focal point in charcuterie plates and Oregon albacore bouillabaisse. Dinner is $55 plus an optional $45 for wine pairings. To claim your spot, email here or call the restaurant.
CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL—The Bunk dudes promise a rager for Bunk Bar's two-year anniversary this Sunday, August 26. From 2p.m. to 9p.m., they're taking over the corner of SE Yamhill and Water, where bands Eat Skull, Sun Angle, and Onuinu will shred for an epicurean crowd. The party will feature specially priced sandwiches, Double Mountain beer, and Water Avenue Coffee. You're all invited. More information here.
WEST END—Chef Anthony Cafiero (of the soonish-to-debut spot Ración ) has teamed up with food blogger Cheryl Sternman Rule and James Beard Journalism Award nominee Lynne Curry to create a three-course dinner with wine pairings. The evening, which commences Thursday at 6p.m. in the private dining room of (the space formerly known as Corazónhttp://pdx.eater.com/tags/corazon), will feature artisan meats and a cornucopia of vegetables and fruits, plus tips and recipes from Rule and Curry's cookbooks. Snag a $75 reservation here.
OLD TOWN—Tonight, the Thirsty Lion Pub and Grill will host the Widmer Brothers for a beer pairing menu. Executive chef Keith Castro will prepare six courses of gastropub cuisine — think citrus marinated Mahi Mahi ceviche tacos and beer-steamed shellfish — in conjunction with recommended beer pairings. These recommendations are optional, as open stations allow guests to create their own pairing combinations. Purchase a $40 ticket here.
