An update on this weekend's Skin & Bones closure, during which chef/owner Caleb McBee announced a "new venture" coming up for the E. Burnside space. According to an update on the bistro's Facebook page, McBee will transform the space into a bar dubbed the Tannery:
The Tannery Bar will be pairing the Skin and Bones commitment to serve tasty, organic food in a cozy atmosphere with the exciting spirits of his former bar Apotheke... The bar will be specializing in organic/biodynamic wines, spirits and vintage beer as well as organic house cured sausages and small plates."
The Skin & Bones brand, meanwhile, will continue as a catering/supperclub branch, and McBee's retail line will also continue. The Tannery looks to debut on September 17, with tentative hours from Monday to Saturday, 4p.m. to midnight.
