Andy Ricker's long-stewing SE Division curry house — slated for the former Kappaya Restaurant space — finally has a name. In a press release announcing a Feast satellite dinner with chef David Thompson, Ricker lets drop that the meal "will be served at our new facility 3384 SE Division Street (future home of Pok Pok Lat Khao)." (The Pok Pok website, right, confirms the name; previous reports had the dinner taking place at the Pok Pok mothership, three blocks away.)
As previously reported, Ricker signed the lease for the Kappaya space in September of last year, with plans to open a concept based on "raan khao kaeng," or Thai curry-on-rice houses. Ricker, famously, operates three Portland restaurants under the Pok Pok brand (including the flagship, Whiskey Soda Lounge, and NE's Pok Pok Noi), and two in New York City (Pok Pok Ny and the recently converted Pok Pok Phat Thai). More information as it becomes available.
