[Avila, 9/20/12]
And now, a look inside two Ocean micro-restaurants ready to swing their doors open: Oswaldo Bibano's electric-neon taqueria Uno Mas, set to officially debut on Monday, and John and Caprial Pence's black-and-white Korean fried chicken spot Basa Basa, which kicks things off tonight. As previously reported, the 600-square-foot Basa Basa will offer a small menu of crispy chicken wings in a variety of sauces (Thai chili, teriyaki), with both indoor counter seating and seats available on a large outdoor patio.
Bibiano's Uno Mas, meanwhile, is set to debut on Monday, and over at PortlandFood.org, blogger/taco fan Nick Zukin has the first preview of Bibiano's (extensive) taco menu: More than 20 options are on offer, from chorizo to lengua, pulpo (octopus) to nopal (cactus). Within the Ocean complex, the two new openings join already-in-business 24th & Meatballs and the soon-to-come Slow Burger, Pie Spot, and Tails & Trotters retail store. Basa Basa debuts tonight; hours moving forward: 11a.m. to 11p.m., daily.
