Oregon is home to a lot of restaurants, bars, wineries, and breweries, but there are tons of hidden gems that some Portlanders aren't unearthing. To help guide us to these potential discoveries, we've enlisted some of our city's many food players to share their recommendations for a weekly feature dubbed Dining Confidential.

Chef Anthony Cafiero is one busy fella. Following years of whipping up his pasta dishes in the kitchen at Tabla, and his super-short stay at the now closed Corazón, Cafiero is near completion on his next big thing: his modern tapas restaurant Ración. With that project keeping him super busy, Cafiero somehow still finds time to grab a bite at one his favorite SE food carts.

I am all about Zenbu, the sushi food cart next to my house in Sellwood! You wouldn't necessarily think sushi and food cart are the perfect match, but Zenbu's chef, Wes, is a rock star and is making some of the best sushi in town, with nods to both Hawaii and Japan on the menu. He's a great guy and we always talk restaurants while I wait for my to-go order. We actually met a year ago while I was grabbing a drink at the Portland Bottle Shop [my neighborhood wine bar and bottle shop] and have kept in touch ever since. It's hard to go wrong with Zenbu's menu and it changes frequently, but I always order the szechuan green beans and the Poke Roll. This is definitely my neighborhood go-to, so if I'm rocking a day off from Ración, you'll probably find me destroying some sushi in my backyard.
