NORTHEAST—The block of N. Killingsworth and NE 30th will throw its annual free food-slingin' Block Party this Monday (September 10), from 6-9p.m. As per usual, the fete features free bites from the corner's restaurants: Yakuza, DOC, Cocotte, and Autentica, as well as live music and from neighboring business like Robots Love Cupcakes. E. BURNSIDE—According to OLCC paperwork, another bar is slated to occupy the E. Burnside spot under Noble Rot that was most recently home to two different incarnations of the Guild Public House. (The first, under the guidance of former pol Jesse Cornett, lasted eight months; the second, just six.) The new spot, dubbed Bar Alla Bomba, will hope to break the curse also set by Report Lounge, Chesterfield, and the building's high-profile shutter Rocket. [EaterWire]

N. MISSISSIPPI—The Martha Stewart is celebrating Amurrrica with an "American Made" award (celebrating home-grown entrepreneurs), and in the food category, Portland's Ruby Jewel represents Oregon in the race for "Audience Choice."
