And now, this week's event-planning EaterWire:

DIVISION/CLINTON—Chef Eric Joppie is shelling out peak-of-the-season Dungeness crab at Bar Avignon this Wednesday, January 16. $25 gets you access to a whole crab and three dipping sauces, including tarragon-caper aioli, drawn butter, and grapefruit ponzu. Dinner starts at 5p.m. and continues until the crab runs out.

NORTHEAST—Sarah Hart's sweet shop Alma Chocolate will host a dinner on January 24 to commemorate the launch of its newly refurbished chocolate studio. Chef Jason French of Ned Ludd, Anne Hubatch of Helioterra Wines, Gregory Hessel of Corsican Cheese Cellars, and Justin Wadell of Bloke Flowers will collaborate with Alma for a five-course dinner with wine pairings. Tickets are $85 apiece and can be purchased here; the dinner will be the first in an ongoing series at Alma.

SOUTHEAST—Tonight (January 15), Lardo's east side location will play host to a massive tasting featuring Uinta Brewery's award-winning beers and barley wines. Between 6 and 8p.m., a representative from the Salt Lake City brew house will not only be handing out samples, but will also be conducting suggested pairings with Lardo's hearty eats. More information here.

SE HAWTHORNE—This Thursday, January 17, Bazi Bierbrasserie will ring in the Oregon market launch of Diep9 genever. From 6 to 9p.m., representatives from Diep9 will provide complimentary samples of the juniper-scented Belgian liqueur to celebrate the company's expansion to the west coast.
