WEST END—Chris Israel's three-year-old Alpine restaurant Gruner will be closed this week for "some major remodeling," per an email blast. While the restaurant will get an updated paint job, new floors, and new bar seating, next-door cocktail spot Kask will pick up the slack (today through January 5), offering Gruner's signature burger at the bar, in addition to special menu items that pair with Kask's cocktail list. Gruner is scheduled to reopen on January 8. [EaterWire]
