Adam Kekahuna In as Quartet's Executive Chef; Food Network Cameras Left Out

New, 18 comments

After briefly flirting with allowing Food Network cameras into its selection process, Quartet — the "Pacific Northwest cuisine with a Southern influence" restaurant slated for the high-profile former Lucier space — has named its executive chef. Hot off the press release wire comes the news that Adam Kekahuna, most famously an alum of Saucebox and Corvallis' Loca Luna Restaurant, has stepped into the role. Most recently, Kekahuna was the executive chef at Honolulu's Outrigger Canoe Club.

The announcement follows on the heels of a rumor that Quarter owners were in talks to film their chef search in an episode of Food Network reality show Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell — during which the celebrity chef helps vet executive chef candidates "testing everything from their culinary mettle to business acumen." Representatives from both the restaurant and network confirm the initial talks, though ultimately timelines and deadlines did not synch up to make the shoot a reality. Quartet plans to open on Valentine's Day — Thursday, February 14. Updates as they become available.
