PDX Cocktail Week is almost upon us; while the official line-up of events can be found here, a few "unofficial" tastings and pairing dinners are popping up around town.
OLD TOWN— The Toro Bravo and Tasty N Sons teams will take over Old Town's KitchenCru space for a five-course, cocktail-focused pop-up on Wednesday, October 23. Bartender Jamal Hassan stirs up cocktails inspired by classic films, while Toro and Tasty chefs pair each with a dish: Expect courses like a Hemingway-inspired Cuban daiquiri (served with an avocado prawn cocktail) and a "Sophia Loren" gin-and-vermouth concoction paired with a Ras al Hanout spiced duck. Reservations are $100 and available here. [EaterWire]
DOWNTOWN— Highland Park Single Malt Scotch Whiskey drops by downtown's Raven & Rose for a three-course Scotch pairing dinner cooked up by chef David Padberg. Highland Park brand ambassador Martin Daraz will be on-hand to talk diners through tastes of Macallan 12, 15, and 18-year pours, as well as sips from Highland Park. Reservations are $50 and available by emailing here.
NW 23RD/ALPHABET DISTRICT— Brand ambassadors from St. Germain will take over the bar at NW 23rd's the Fireside during a two-hour happy hour on Tuesday, October 22: All St. Germain drinks will be $6 from 4-6p.m. [EaterWire]
