ChefStable head honcho Kurt Huffman will pair with East Willamette Valley's AlexEli Vineyards to open an 8,000-square-foot wine taproom called Coopers Hall. The Oregonian reports that the project — developed by Ace Hotel revampers Dave Schrott and Robert Sacks — will provide "the most extensive on-tap wine program in the country," and St. Jack sommelier Joel Gunderson will run the urban winery
Also on-tap: "a potential restaurant inside the space." The 60-acre AlexEli Vineyard, located in Molalla, was founded in 2007 by Anita Katz, who took over a then-28-year-old vineyard to launch the AlexEli brand. ChefStable, meanwhile, has a busy year ahead, with announced projects like a new bar in Old Town's former Ping space, a bakery project in North Portland, and a NW 23rd outpost of St. Jack. Coopers Hall is eyeing a February 2014 opening. More information as it becomes available.
