Thursday nights are live-music nights at Peter Bro's Midwestern bar Savoy Tavern, and on this particular evening, drinkers were pairing their Mules and Mulled Sidecars with jazz by Portland-based group the Wishermen. Chef Josh Hedrick — who was firing chicken pot pies and burgers in the space's large, open kitchen — admitted it was a slower Thursday than usual at the Savoy, with a handful of guests directing their complete attention at the band, and more huddled in pairs of quiet conversation.
