Paley's Revamps Cocktail Menu; Nostrana's Hazan Tribute

NW/ALPHABET DISTRICT— Imperial barman Brandon Wise has given the cocktail menu an overhaul at Paley's Place, shifting focus to classic drinks from the "late-19th and early-20th century." The restaurant's popular barrel-aged Manhattan and "Chef's Favorite" martini are holdovers from the former menu; new drinks include a Ritz Sidecar, Pendennis Club, and a Bobby Burns. [EaterWire]

BUCKMAN— Tonight (Friday, October 4), chef Cathy Whims will pay tribute to recently departed cookbook author Marcella Hazan with a tribute menu at Nostrana. Whims will serve up a three-course, $35 prix fixe menu inspired by her first day working with the Italian culinary legend (featuring Bolognese-style braised pork, rigatoni Napoli-stype, and sorbetto), in addition to a la carte specials. NORTH PORTLAND— The N. Fremont location of Grand Central Bakery will celebrate the arrival of fall with fresh-pressed cider and doughnuts during a pop-up event tomorrow (Saturday, October 5).
