The Pearl District will soon welcome a new "comfortable neighborhood saloon" in the form of River Pig Saloon, taking over the former Ready Paint Fire space near the Pearl's outpost of Barista. The Oregonian reports that the 48-seat project, by Lardo and Oven & Shaker partner Ramzy Hattar will offer beer, cocktails, and TVs playing Portland and San Francisco games (Hattar's cousin Shadi, from SF, will run day-to-day operations at the bar).
And Eater has confirmed that the Hattars will tap a familiar collaborator — Lardo and Grassa chef Rick Gencarelli — to create the "comfort food" bar menu, though no further details are available at this time. Meanwhile, Teardrop Lounge's Sean Hoard is consulting on the cocktail menu, which according to a rep, will focus on simple "classics."
