The meat-focused team behind E. Burnside's haute steakhouse Laurelhurst Market — co-owners Ben Dyer, Jason Owens, and David Kreifels — have confirmed they'll join forces once again to open a new barbecue concept in Southeast Portland called Reverend's BBQ.
According to Dyer, the family-friendly spot, located in Sellwood, will offer a "very simple menu" of barbecue with beer, wine, and liquor. Although Dyer was careful not to disclose the exact location ("We are working on securing a location for a new restaurant. We still have to sign the lease, but it's looking pretty good," he says), the magical world of OLCC applications reveals the 82-seat restaurant hopes to take over the space currently occupied by Eleni's Estiatorio, which has been in business on SE 13th Avenue for 12 years. Further details are currently under wraps, but the LM team does confirm a projected opening date: spring 2014.
