Acclaimed Brooklyn pizzeria Paulie Gee's — which, according to many, serves some of the city's best Neapolitan-style pizzas — plans to open a Portland location in the near future, as part of a massive multi-city expansion that sees pizzaiolo Paulie Giannone eyeing cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, and Oakland. Gee tells Eater National that he's "actively looking" for a space in Portland, teaming with Slice founder Adam Kuban on the PDX project: "Kuban approached Giannone with the idea and has been working with Giannone a few days a week at the Brooklyn pizzeria, learning Giannone's pizza ways plus the ins and outs of the restaurant business."

At his Greenpoint, Brooklyn restaurant, Giannone has created a cult following for his amusingly named pies, like the "Feel Like Bacon Love" (which has no actual bacon on it), the "In Ricotta Da Vita," and "Anise and Anephew." (Gee's also offers several vegan options.) No timeline yet for the PDX outpost; more information as it becomes available.
