Cocotte's Dining Room Revamp; PDX Cookbook Social

CONCORDIA— NE 30th's charming bistro Cocotte is expanding into its adjacent storefront to expand its dining room. According to chef/owner Kat LeSueur, the renovation will add 20 seats to the bistro's dining room, "mainly streamlining to make the whole room cleaner, brighter, and more comfortable for guests," she says. The added space will also increase Cocotte's square footage for private dinners and large parties. Cocotte is open during construction; expect the new dining room to be ready in a few weeks. DOWNTOWN— For the second year in a row, downtown's Imperial will host a slew of local authors for a Portland Cookbook Social, scheduled for this Sunday, December 8. Local chefs/restaurateurs/writers like Andy and Lauren Fortgang (Le Pigeon), Nick Zukin (The Artisan Jewish Deli at Home), and John Gorham and Liz Crain (Toro Bravo) will be on-hand, with several authors offering edible samples cooked from their books. More information — and the full line-up of authors — here. [EaterWire]

NORTHEAST— Seattle Mariners legend Edgar Martinez will appear at Albina's Mexican spot Trebol this weekend, acting as a brand ambassador for El Zacatecano mezcal. Martinez will work the room tonight (December 6) offering complimentary tastings; Trebol's Kenny Hill will serve free bites. The event is free with RSVP but also doubles as a fundraiser for Connecting Borders Foundation. More information here. [EaterWire]
