At this point, there needs to be a shortcut for saying "cart-to-mortar." Eat Beat has the news that yet-another food cart is making the leap to fixed digs: Downtown's three-year-old Addy's Sandwich Bar has plans to open a 15-seat sandwich shop in the former Allspice Deli on SW Tenth Avenue. Per Eat Beat, the spot will offer owner Addy Bittner's familiar lunch menu, with additions like panini-pressed sandwiches, an all-new breakfast service (featuring egg-and-cheese sandwiches and grab-and-go options), and beer and wine.
Addy's joins other Portland carts that recently announced brick-and-mortar plans for 2013, including downtown's Brunch Box and SE Hawthorne's El Cubo de Cuba.
Addy's Sandwich Bar is shooting for an April 2013 opening.
