And now, more "cursed space" conversations. Despite just making its debut in November of 2012, Christopher Ashley's Venetian-inspired bacaros spot Bar Alla Bomba will permanently close at the end of the week. According to a Facebook announcement:

No finger pointing or blame, it just didn't work out for us. For our four month existence we had such a great time meeting all our new friends, exposing them to a segment of Italian cuisine and products they many not have been familiar with, feeding them, and getting them buzzed. We wouldn't have had it any other way.

This will be the most recent closure of a drinking establishment in that space. Prior to Bar Alla Bomba, the spot was home to two different incarnations of the Guild Public House (the first, under the guidance of former pol Jesse Cornett, lasted eight months; the second, just six). Prior to that, it was home to the Report Lounge and Chesterfield. Per the Facebook announcement, an invite-only farewell party will take place this Saturday, with the last day of public service slated for this Friday, February 22.
