On Friday's episode of Portlandia, an example of communal dining (described as "so Portland") gone horribly wrong. Carrie Brownstein goes on a date with a character played by Chloë Sevigny, and describes the concept of communal dining thusly: "It's like you can kind of hear their conversations but at the same time there are sort of tacit rules, so like, no one bugs you, but it feels very vibrant." Too bad Sevigny's there to talk breakup. Eater National has the clip. [-EN-]
