Zakuski at Wildwood; Events at Lardo and Bar Avignon

In this week's event-planning EaterWire:

NORTHWEST/ALPHABET DISTRICT—This Saturday night (March 2), Wildwood will host a PNW rendition of the Zakuski, a Russian vodka and hors d'oeuvre tasting. From 4 to 7p.m., guests get access to six pairings of chef Dustin Clark's old-country-inspired plates — pierogies, pate, and oyster-and-borscht shooters, to name a few — and herb-infused vodkas from Oregon and Washington distilleries. To obtain one of the $25 tickets ($30 at the door), call 503.225.0130 or email here.

DIVISION/CLINTON—The wine nerds at Bar Avignon will hold their tongues when esteemed brewery Fort George invades for a beer dinner this Sunday. Dinner will feature five courses from chef Eric Joppie alongside five of Fort George's beers, including a northwest pale ale that makes its debut at the dinner. For one of the $55 reservations, call Bar Avignon at 503-517-0808.

HAWTHORNE—Pork will have share the spotlight with oysters at the SE Hawthorne location of Lardo this Sunday. Starting at noon, the sandwich shop will shell out specials like fried oyster banh mi and a po'boy with oyster and pork belly. Sandwiches aren't the only medium either, with Lardo featuring oyster-imbued stouts from Portland Brewing, Fort George and Upright. Find more information here.
