Maialata at Montinore; Events at Wildwood, Allium Bistro

On this week's event-planning EaterWire:

NORTHWEST/ALPHABET DISTRICT—Join Wildwood chef Dustin Clark as he and three local sommeliers orchestrate a winter dinner this Friday, February 8. This five-courser (plus pairings, of course) commences with seafood — sea scallop crudo with meyer lemon, celery root, and crispy shallots — which eventually gives way to heavier dishes like crispy duck rillettes and slow cooked beef cheek. For one of the $85 reservations, email here.

FOREST GROVE—Riffing on an old Northern Italian celebration of pork called the Maialata, Nostrana chef Cathy Whims is partnering with Montinore Estate winery to host a hands-on immersion into butchering, charcuterie making, and all things porcine. On Sunday, February 10, pork nerds are invited to Montinore Estate in Forest Grove for some all-day crash courses, concluding with a dinner at dusk to enjoy the fruits of their labor. (Chefs John Taboada of Luce and Jason French of Ned Ludd will also be on-hand.) For one of the $95 reservations, call Montinore Estate at 503-359-5012.

WEST LINN— Chef Pascal Chureau continues his monthly wine dinner series at West Linn's Allium Bistro with a six-course supper on Wednesday, February 6, featuring wines by Owen Roe. The $70 all-inclusive dinner features courses like lamb roulade, seared scallops (with mousse, coucous, and pulled bacon), and hazelnut macaroons for dessert. Reservations are required and available by calling the restaurant at 503-387- 5604.
