Alma's Chocolate CSA; Sauton Gets Sexy at KitchenCru

NORTHEAST—Alma Chocolate continues to roll out new features from its revamped NE cafe space. Chocolatier Sarah Hart has announced the launch of a year-long "chocolate-of-the-month" subscription — similar to a CSA — that sees a sampler box hit at subscriber's doorsteps 11 times a year (skipping the month of August). Treats vary based on season: a 10-piece peanut butter box arrive in April, ginger almond toffee gets sent in September, while December features a 10-piece bon bon box. Subscriptions are $220 per year and available here. [EaterWire]

OLD TOWN—Undisputed Hottest Chef in America Pascal Sauton will hold an appropriately themed "Aphrodisiac Dinner" at Old Town's KitchenCru on Sunday, April 7. (Because per the press release: "What better way to celebrate the arrival of our fertile Oregon spring season than with the sexiest chef in America cooking the sexiest food around?") The five-course dinner features courses like oysters on the half shell, seared scallops with uni-Champagne vinaigrette, and a beet risotto with chile-cured salmon. The $75 reservation is inclusive of wine pairings and gratuity; tickets are available here. [EaterWire]
