Here's a possible hint about the "Restaurant of the Year" players for the Oregonian's 2013 Diner guide: When asked about the "best dishes" he's eaten thus far this year, critic Michael Russell name-drops dishes from Smallwares, Tasty N Alder, and most notably, chef Trent Pierce's Roe, where a lobster roe medley made "a winning combination that seemed less like a Top 40 hit and more like a seafood symphony."
