Pairings Portland, Mariscos Las Islas Marias Now Open

1) Northeast/Kerns: Pairings Portland Wine Shop debuted last month across the street from the Ocean micro-restaurant complex, reports Neighborhood Notes. Per the official site, the shop focuses on helping guests pair wine selections with particular foods — sections are organized by cuisine, with shelf labels suggesting specific pairings, highlighting wine that goes with everything from mac and cheese to salmon to cassoulet. In addition to winemaker visits and tastings, special tasting events revolve around themes like "Wines that Pair with Pig", and visitors are welcome to bring in outside food. More information here. 3) Sellwood: Also per NNotes, Sellwood welcomed a new café in mid-March, in the form of Either/OR. The spot offers espresso by Heart Coffee Roasters, house-made sodas, a rotating "guest roaster," and espresso and beverage flights — which feature "espresso, your choice of cappuccino or macchiato, a small taste pairing, and sparkling water back."
