Inside din din Supper Club's Brick-and-Mortar Digs

[Avila, 4/29/13]

After years of hosting pop-up dinners in spaces around Portland, chef Courtney Sproule has a permanent home. The brick-and-mortar din din Supper Club debuted last week in NE Portland's Bison Building. And though Sproule now gets to experiment in a dining room that seats 50 diners, her concept remains the same: Dinner seatings (available only Thursdays through Saturdays) take on a different "dinner party" theme every few weeks, with Sproule curating the menu and decor to provide a completely unified aesthetic experience. The opening dinner series "True Stories" takes its inspiration from David Byrne and features a Talking Heads soundtrack, scenes from the film projected in the background, and dishes like white tea rose sorbet and rack of lamb with beurre rouge and sunchoke souflée greens.

Reservations are still available for this week's "True Stories" (May 2 through 4), and as previously reported, plans are to soon launch daily espresso/lunch service, as well as a la carte weekend brunch.
