La Sangucheria, Garcelon's Win 2013 Eat Mobile Awards

As per tradition, Willamette Week's annual food cart celebration Eat Mobile stuffed an unseemly amount of food into a one-day festival on Saturday. And though 3,000 patient line-waiting eaters earned their share of rewards, the carts themselves were competing for their own prize: the annual "Best in Show" awards, affectionally dubbed the "Cartys."

Fifty Portland food carts participated in the event, and once voting cleared, downtown Peruvian-sandwich cart La Sangucheria took home the Judge's Award. Garcelon's, a soup and grilled cheese cart at the Rose City Food Park, earned the People's Choice prize. SE Hawthorne's Cheese & Crack won the competition's "Style Award" for its adorable samplers.
